A Department of Homeland Security employee has sparked outrage in the US by spending his spare time editing a website advocated a coming “race war against whites” and chastising “Uncle Tom race traitors”, including President Obama who appears on a list of “enemies”.
First highlighted in a report by the Southern Poverty Law Center, Ayo Kimathi, a manager for the DHS whose responsibilities include the purchase of weaponry for the government, runs the site called War On The Horizon, which extols the need for a coming racial conflict.
“In order for black people to survive the 21st Century, we are going to have to kill a lot of whites,” the site says, alongside demands for “ethnic cleansing” and anti-gay rants. “Whites around the world are absolutely determined to exterminate Afrikan [sic] people in all corners of the earth," it adds.
Kimathi, who goes under the moniker “Irritated Genie” and works for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, told his employers the site was set up to sell videos of lectures.
Right-wing commentators were quick to jump on the federal government for employing Kimanthi, including Sarah Palin, who took to Facebook to describe the revelations as “unflippingbelievable”.
The website has since been taken down.
