If you're fanatic about sport, then choosing an institution with awesome facilities is going to be pretty important to you. Luckily, a survey by Which? has revealed the best universities for sport, as voted for by students.
Introducing, in no particular order, the UK's sportiest universities..
The campus is home to some of the country’s leading coaches, sports scientists and support staff. It also has the country’s largest concentration of high quality sports training facilities, equipment and support resources.
St Marys University College
One of the university's gyms. Such is the institution's sporting reputation, Mo Farah used the university to launch his Mo Farah Foundation, a charity providing life saving aid to East Africa
One of many facilities at Bath, the university's international-standard eight-lane running track has full jumps and throws facilities and floodlighting. The infield pitch is also fully floodlit.
University of Stirling
There are six indoor and two outdoor clay courts which collectively comprise the Scottish Tennis Centre. Courts are shared between the public, Tennis Scotland National Development players and the University scholarship and club players.
Not only does it boast numerous tennis courts, the university has a Sports Hall and Netball Hall which are available for basketball, volleyball, badminton and netball both with seating for 300 spectators, integrated scoreboard and timing systems.
The university's alumni includes Will Carling, Nasser Hussain, Jonathan Edwards, Andrew Strauss and recent Olympic gold medalists Sophie Hoskings and Lily van den Broeke.
Leeds Metropolitan University
The university's outdoor centre boasts an eight-lane track, jumps and throws facilities, two floodlit synthetic turf pitches - a 3G pitch for football / rugby and a hockey pitch, four grass pitches and a floodlit multi-use games area. Phew.
Cardiff Metropolitan University
The university's world class facilities include the National indoor Athletics Centre (NIAC), a tennis centre, swimming pool, fitness suite, numerous grass and Astroturf pitches and an outdoor athletics track
Harper Adams University
The university in Shropshire has gun cabinets for its shooting club members, equestrian facilities, as well as organising rock climbing, canoeing, caving and surfing expeditions for its students.
University of Birmingham
The institution's gym was named "gym of the year" in 2010, while the university also offers facilities for dance, martial arts, kayaking, swimming and tennis - to name a few.
University of Chichester
The university offers various recreational activities including a 6-aside soccer competition, badminton and an indoor cricket league, together with a wide range of traditional sports clubs and ‘new wave’ activities such as ultimate Frisbee and cheerleading.
The institution recently opened a £30m state of the art sports facility offering a 12m climbing wall, 25m swimming pool, golf simulator and fitness centre to name but a few.
