An auspicious debut at Sunderland could not spare Arsenal's record signing Mesut Özil from experiencing his initiation.
Favoured by many Premier League clubs, Özil had to stand on a chair and belt out a song for a cringing ice-breaker at the Gunners' hotel on Tuesday night.
The 24-year-old German, whose girlfriend is Mannheim popstar Mandy Capristo, looked shy and tentative as he took his cue in front of teammates.
