Any parent who has had to go through the rigmarole of getting a passport baby photo will appreciate these hilarious photos. Actually, make that anyone who's stuck with a wince-making photo that causes customs officials to do a double-take or start sniggering.

So it's perhaps not surprising that just hours after the photos of this five-month-old sleepyhead were posted online by his dad, they had gone viral. Three days later, they have over a million views and 600 plus comments - and have earned him the title 'drunk baby'.

Under the pics of his droopy son, his dad wrote:

"My wife took our 5 month old son to get his first passport photos taken - NAILED IT!"

Dad Joel told NBC News: "I posted it before we went to bed, woke up the next morning and had friends from the UK saying congrats on making the front page of Reddit

To safeguard his now notorious son's privacy, Joel, who lives in Vancouver, Canada asked for his last name not to be used. But his user name is "Jorge Churano."

"The out takes were just too funny to keep to ourselves," he said.

They definitely were!

All UK babies need their own passports for travel abroad. The rules are strict and include "a neutral expression and mouth closed (no grinning, frowning or raised eyebrows)"; "on your own (babies should not have toys or a dummy, and there shouldn't be other people in the photo) and be taken with "eyes open and clearly visible". So not hard at all! Thankfully, they can be used for five years.

Have you got any awful passport baby photos that failed to make the selection? Escape artists, dribblers, cross-eyed or just asleep?
