The remarkable footage was caught on a camera perched on the dashboard of his patrol vehicle as he drove down a highway in Northern Alberta.
The Telus World of Science in Edmonton confirmed the sighting.
The video is reminiscent of the massive meteor that streaked across the sky above Russia's Ural Mountains.
Thankfully this time no-one was injured...
