Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko is suing Dutch paint giant Akzo Nobel for £62 million in damages, claiming that they carried out an "unsatisfactory" paint job of his £200 million 391-foot luxury yacht.
Menichenko's £62 million ($100m) claim for damages covers the cost of correcting the allegedly poor paintwork as well as a monthly £2.5 million fee to hire a replacement vessel for the tycoon in the 18 months while his yacht is busy being repainted.

Melnichenko's yacht, 'A', is 119 metres long and weighs 5959 gross tons. The Russian tycoon, who is worth nearly £9 billion, complained that the paint was found "running" and left "lines and sags" and a "cloudy" finish.
The ship was longer than Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich's Pelorus ship, however recent research found that the largest yacht is now owned by the Qatari royal family.
Akzo Nobel, which owns the Dulux paint brand, was commissioned to provide a finish to the yacht but provided an "unsatisfactory" coat, the Daily Mail reported.

The vessel has 23,600 square feet of living space, six guest suites and can fit 37 crew onboard.
The yacht's interior was designed by French designers Philipp Starck and boasts a dance floor with a glass ceiling.
This comes as the UK superyacht industry is enjoying its best sales since 2008.
