Vintage BBC Sitcom Set For New Christmas Special

'Open All Hours' is set to return to screens for a Christmas special, with David Jason reprising his role as Granville, it has been confirmed.

Maggie Ollerenshaw and Lynda Baron will also return as Mavis and nurse Gladys Emmanuel for the 30-minute one-off, entitled 'Still Open All Hours'.

David's character Granville will be running the famous grocery store with his son in the new episode, having been left it by his uncle Albert Arkwright, who was played by the late Ronnie Barker.

"I'm really excited to be bringing back 'Open All Hours'," said David. "I am sure there is an audience out there who would like to see what Granville has been getting up to in the corner shop.

"It will be a great family show for Christmas, and a fitting tribute to the legacy of Arkwright."

'Open All Hours' originally aired between 1973 and 1985 on the BBC.
