Tom Hanks Reveals He Has Type 2 Diabetes On The ‘Late Show With David Letterman' After Suffering Symptoms For 20 Years (VIDEO)

Tom Hanks Reveals Health Scare On TV

Legendary actor Tom Hanks prefers to keep his personal life private but in a rare candid moment during an interview on the ‘Late Show With David Letterman’ he broke with tradition and opened up about his recent health problems - revealing he suffers from Type II Diabetes.

The Oscar winner broke the news to fans during the interview filmed on Monday night where he admitted he’d experienced symptoms of the disease for 20 years but only recently received an official diagnosis from doctors.

The revelation came after the American TV Show host commented on the fact Tom had lost weight which promoted the newly slimmed down star to confirm the news and admit he’s been forced to shed the pounds in order to control the condition.

But he won’t be giving up the fried food, cakes and other calorie-laden treats for good, the actor also added he’d ‘struggled’ to lose weight and while his doctor suggested he return to the same weight he was at high school he’d rather live with diabetes than lose any more inches.
