David Hasselhoff, Batman And Robin, And A Smurf Tackle Crime In Tesco

Batman and Robin, David Hasselhoff and a Smurf have helped police thwart a criminal in Tesco.

The surreal scenes were instigated after the man dressed as boy wonder Robin was assaulted on Friday.

The group, who were all in fancy dress, chased the attacker into Tesco after calling the police, according to the Evening Telegraph.

The incident only came to light after East Lothian Police took to Twitter to thank the ‘super-heroes’ for their help:

A 21-year-old man was later arrested after a scuffle in the toilet roll aisle. He later pled guilty in court.

A Police Scotland spokesman told the BBC: "A 21-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with an assault in Eskview Road, Musselburgh, on Friday 1 November.

"He was remanded in custody until Monday 4th November, where he appeared in court and pled guilty to the offence."
