Three teenagers have died after the car they were in crashed into a wall.

An 18-year-old woman and two boys, aged 15 and 16, died of their injuries following the incident on a minor road in East Lothian.

A fourth person, a 16-year-old boy, is being treated at Edinburgh's Royal Infirmary.

The crash happened on an unclassified road in Tyninghame at about 8.25pm yesterday.

Police Scotland said the four teenagers were travelling in a Peugeot 206.

The three who lost their lives died at the scene of the crash. No other vehicles were involved.

Road policing officers investigating the incident asked anyone who can help with their inquiries to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Tragically, this incident has resulted in three young people losing their lives and we are currently trying to establish exactly what has happened.

"Any motorists who were on the road at the time and have information that can help with our investigation is asked to contact police immediately."
