Bradley Wiggins Makes Terrible Joke At Abuse Fundraiser

Sir Bradley Wiggins shocked diners at a fundraising dinner for child abuse victims as he joked that the auctioneer should "suck me off".

Abuse victims gave testimony about their experiences during the fundraising function, at Rudding Park Hotel, Harrogate.

The Olympic gold medallist was picked up on camera as he joked to auctioneer Jon Hammond: "You’ve got a posh voice. I like posh voices. Suck me off."

Businessman David Parkin told the Daily Star the room was left in stunned silence: "It was bizarre and shocking. The chap sitting next to me said: 'Before tonight he was my hero, but not any more.'”

"It was completely the wrong time and place to say something like that. People were completely disgusted by him."

The Tour de France winning cyclist had presented a signed shirt for the event, auctioned for £5,000.

A spokesman for Wiggins' management agency said: “We’d like to apologise to anyone who was offended by his language.”
