Christmas adverts have been coming thick and fast, with Coca-Cola most infamously poaching Santa Claus for its ads as they show the bearded figure delivering festive joy in the form of bottles of Coke.

HuffPostUK has found that Santa Claus has had a longer commercial history than helping promote Coca-Cola, previously being used to promote cigarettes at Christmas-time as these vintage adverts show.
