'Loose Women' Star Completes Charity Bungee Jump

Andrea McLean has completed a reverse bungee jump live on Wednesday's 'Loose Women', as part of ITV's 'Text Santa' appeal.

The former weather girl was catapulted 37 metres into the sky at over 50 mph outside The London Studios, after the daytime chat show reached its charity appeal target of £50,000.

Speaking to fellow 'Loose Women' Kaye Adams, Coleen Nolan, Jane Moore and Nadia Sawalha before she set off for the challenge, Andrea said: "I was kind of OK and I even woke up this morning and thought ‘yes OK, I can do this’ and… now I’ve actually seen what it is I’ve got to do. Is it too late to change my mind?

After Andrea had catapulted over the River Thames and was back on solid ground, she said: “One thing happened that I was really worried about, my nose ran! And secondly I didn’t swear. Wow!”

Explaining the sensation of the reverse bungee, Andrea said: “It felt like how a spider must feel when somebody yanks it’s web up!” before joking that she had completed her jump in heels.

The 'Text Santa' telethon - hosted by Ant & Dec, Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield, Christine Bleakley and Paddy McGuinness - airs on Friday 20 December on ITV.
