GOLDEN GLOBE NOMINATIONS: Idris Elba, Chiwetel Ejiofor, 'Downton Abbey' Lead British Field For Awards Ceremony 2014

Idris Elba, Chiwetel Ejiofor Lead Brits In Impressive Golden Globe Nominations Haul

Brits have made their usual impact on the Golden Globe nominations, with Idris Elba and Chiwetel Ejiofor each collecting two nods, and 'Downton Abbey', Janet McTeer, Michael Sheen and Steve Coogan all in the running for this year's awards.

Elba and Ejiofor have both been nominated twice in the same categories, once in the Lead Actor in A Motion Picture - Drama category - Elba for 'Mandela' and Ejiofor for '12 Years a Slave' - and in the Lead Actor in A TV Series - Elba as Luther, Ejiofor for 'Dancing on the Edge'.

British ladies also dominate the Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama category, with Kate Winslet, Dame Judi Dench and Emma Thompson taking three of the five spots.

The Globes, which are handed out by the Foreign Press Association in Hollywood, never fail to notice British triumphs on both small and big screens and this year has proved no exception.
