Thugs Attack Cambridge University Student For 'Harry Potter' Appearance

Police Still Hunting For Thugs Who Attacked Foreign Exchange Student For 'Harry Potter' Appearance

Police are still hunting a gang of thugs following a brutal attack on a foreign exchange student who believes he was targeted for wearing his college gown and "looking like Harry Potter".

American national Quinn Coan, who is visiting from the US for a year, was left with a broken jaw after his head was stamped on in the unprovoked assault.

The LA-born student who is currently studying at Cambridge University, was out to celebrate his 21st birthday when he was approached by eight or nine people.

He said the group started to poke fun at his gown and made a remark about Harry Potter.

"As we walked away I was punched on the right side of my head and then again and I fell to the ground," the Daily Mail reported Coan saying.

"My friends came to my side and then one of the group came over and just stamped on my head and broke my jaw.

"I had a black eye and a fractured jaw. It was terrible. I really think it was because I was wearing a gown.

"We didn’t approach them. It was a totally unprovoked attack. I just want them to be caught."
