In what could be the most terrifying photobomb of all time, two oblivious young boys were pictured next to what looks to be a shark whilst surfing.
June Emerson took the picture of her blissfully unaware 12-year-old son Quinn and a friend at California's Manhattan Beach, US.
Going through her photographs from the day on the way home, she spotted the dark shadow looming just metres away from the two children.
She uploaded it to Facebook shortly after and it quickly went viral, as people speculated over what it could be.
Just a large piece of seaweed?
She told KTLA: “It was quite a shock to see."
She added: “Many local surfers and lifeguards have seen this and believe it to be a shark."
Ms Emerson reportedly told her son it was a dolphin to put his mind at rest.
Great white sharks have been spotted in the area before, but it is still unclear what this animal was.
