The Oscars have been allotted. The ink is dry inside the golden envelopes. And they're being opened tonight - one by one!

'American Hustle' leads the 2014 Oscar nominations in the main categories with six nods.

The David O Russell directed film has been nominated for the prestigious Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay gongs, while its stars Christian Bale and Amy Adams have both received nods for Best Actor. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence are both contenders for Best Supporting roles.

Chris Hemsworth, a.k.a. Thor, announced the 2014 Oscar nominees on Thursday live from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
