'Mystery Death Code' Cracked By Internet After 20 Years (In 14 Minutes)

Before she died of brain cancer in 1996, the grandmother of Ask MetaFilter member JannaK scribbled down what looked like a random string of non-sensical letters.

After a family member rediscovered one of the cards recently, JannaK asked the internet for help.

Within 14 minutes the code that had had the family baffled for so long was cracked.

This was the first to fall - harperpitt recognised it is in fact the first letter of every word of the Lord's Prayer.

Next up was this one - although not as clear cut, viewers at least knew the cypher so could take a decent shot at guessing.
