Lego Ghostbusters: Fan-Designed CuuSoo 'Ectomobile' Will Be Released

Who You Gonna Build? Lego Ghostbusters!

Lego has announced it will produce an official Ghostbusters set for the classic movie's 30th anniversary.

The idea originated on Lego's 'CuuSoo' site, where fans can submit potential sets for consideration by Lego's board if they can gather 10,000 supporters.

Designer Brett Waller submitted his idea, comprising a Ectomobile car and Minifigs of Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler and Winston Zeddemore.

After a lengthy review, it was decided that the Ghostbusters set met the criteria for release. It will follow other CuuSoo sets such as the Mars Rover Curiosity and a limited edition Back To The Future DeLorean.

Lego said it had not decided the final set's design, price or release date, but said the design would be similar to Waller's original plans.

"This is an amazing model, and the set will be a fantastic representation of the cult classic film. Supporters know that Brent put a lot of love into this, and the final model, which we can’t reveal quite yet, will be largely based on his original car design. The final design, pricing and availability are still being worked out, and the set will be released later this year, so stay tuned!"
