Edinson Cavani Linked With Chelsea And Manchester United - Transfer Talk

Cavani Reps In England To Clinch Premier League Move And More Transfer Talk

Edinson Cavani's unhappy year could conclude with a move to the Premier League, where both Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly interested.

Cavani recently returned to Uruguay to conclude his messy divorce just months after he left Napoli for Paris Saint-Germain in a £55 million transfer.

However, the 26-year-old could leave Ligue 1 after only one season, and the Mail claim his representatives have arrived in London to discuss a move across the Channel.

Pick me: Cavani could leave PSG after just one year in France

Chelsea are more in need of a striker than United and Cavani would nicely fill the No.9 void Samuel Eto'o and Fernando Torres have gamely struggled in. United were linked with a move for the PSG striker last month, when it was rumoured Sir Alex Ferguson had personally telephoned his Jaap Stam Replacement, Laurent Blanc, to inquire about Cavani's availability.

On the topic of PSG and United, the latter have told the Parisians to forget about luring Adnan Januzaj to La Ville-Lumière. Januzaj only signed a five-year contract with the champions in October. So no chance of an exchange deal.

Dwight Yorke has gone off Pravda-piste to state Wayne Rooney will leave United if the club don't qualify for the Champions League in the MEN.

PSG could also do with a new goalkeeper, which makes Frenchman Hugo Lloris an obvious candidate. The Tottenham stopper has already hinted at a summer move if Spurs don't qualify for the Champions League.

Juventus could thwart Manchester City's attempt to sign Fernando, whose plane never took off on deadline day last week, claim the Express.

And City are, along with Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea, also interested in Marseille's 16-year-old Maxime Lopez.
