Wilderness Festival Line-Up: Metronomy, Burt Bacharach And London Grammar To Headline

Metronomy, Burt Bacharach And London Grammar To Headline Wilderness Festival

Glitter make-up and wellies at the ready - Wilderness Festival's 2014 eclectic line-up has been announced.

Headliners include the legendary Burt Bacharach, much-loved British band Metronomy and chart-smashing newcomers London Grammar.

But that's not the only exciting announcement to make - HuffPost UK are delighted to be named the media partners of Wilderness Festival for the second year running. And we promise to make it the best yet.

Singer-songwriter and six-time Grammy Award winner, Bacharach will be making a rare live appearance to serenade the Wilderness audience with a number of hits from his extensive back catalogue.

Hot on the heels of their new album 'Love Letters', Metronomy will bring their infectious electro pop to the main stage.

London Grammar look set to continue an astonishingly successful year with a triumphant return to the festival, this time playing a headline set following on from their incredible guerrilla gig last year.

“Our set at Wilderness last year was one of the most memorable moments of our entire 2013. To be headlining the festival this summer is an honour. Wilderness is a wonderful festival, and we hope we can contribute to its magic," said trio London Grammar in a statement.

But, as Wilderness veterans are well aware, music is but just one string to the festival's finely-tuned bow.

The event, which takes place from 7-10 August 2014 at Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire, is a celebration of the arts and nature.

The Huffington Post UK will be co-hosting a series of talks, along side debates and literary arts with the Secret Forum - boasting a line-up that features HuffPost UK's very own political director Mehdi Hasan.

The festival also offers a unique gastronomic experience, featuring banquets with top notch chefs including Simon Rogan, Angela Hartnett (who not only holds Michelin stars but also an MBE for her services to the industry) and Russell Norman of Polpo fame.

Embracing the Great Outdoors there will be fly fishing, horse riding, archery, woodland medicine walks, wild swimming in clear lakes and boating to indulge in.

Meanwhile, those who just wish to relax and let the world melt away for the weekend can take refuge in the Sanctuary wellbeing area, which boasts Sunset Yoga classes, Pilates, massages and facials. Not forgetting the highly desirable Lakeside Spa, which comes complete with wood-fired hot tubs and saunas to luxuriate in plus a private swimming lake.

For the full line-up of what is on offer at the fun, family orientated festival, including long-table banqueting and theatre from Shakespeare’s Globe, check out the poster below or visit the Wilderness website.
