BRITS 2014: Winners Don't Matter, The Show's Still Worth Watching

Why The BRITS Are Worth Watching, Even If You Don't Care Who Wins

It's the Brit Awards 2014 tonight and, while some are excited about British music's biggest awards bash, others are still sulking about how the gongs handed out are 'pointless'.

The thing is, the Brits are about so much more than the winners and how worthy or not they may be.

So what if you don't care who takes home the prize for Best British Male, seeing so many different types of music represented in one place makes for an entertaining evening.

The Brits have a special place in many TV viewers' hearts in part because musicians are generally less well behaved (thank you Adele, bravo Jarvis Cocker) than actors.

This means the annual schmoozing even turns out to be much more spontaneous than the likes of the BAFTAs or even the NTAs. Yes, we know Tinie Tempah high-fived Prince Will at the BAFTAs this year, but that does not a rule break.

We might not be holding our breath to see which song is named Best British Single (according to social media analysis by RadiumOne, One Direction are the current favourites for the prize) but we are excited about seeing Beyonce live from the 02.

Here are the 13 times the BRITs have entertained us previously and thus why we'll be tuning again tonight...
