Facebook Turned Down WhatsApp Founder For A Job In 2009

What a difference five years makes.

Back in 2009, WhatsApp co-founder sent out the following tweet after going for a job at Facebook:

He went for a job. They turned him down. But Acton remained upbeat. He had another plan.

A plan that today he and his fellow founders sold - to Facebook - for as much as $19 billion.

Oddly enough, Acton was also turned down by Twitter:

And he also hasn't Tweeted in more than a year. His last tweet?

Indeed.
