Tony Hawk Skateboarding Video Game 'In The Works' Confirms Activision

New 'Tony Hawk' Video Game Coming Soon!

Tony Hawk is back.

Or, rather, "Tony Hawk's" is back.

The skateboarding legend, whose gaming work led to a generation of teenage boys believing his name ended with an 'S', has let slip that Activision is working on a reboot for the classic skating title.

The last new Tony Hawk-licensed video game (the peripheral-based Shred) was unveiled to mediocre reviews four years ago - though an HD remake of the original, classic Tony Hawk's Pro Skater was published in 2012. Even that didn't do much business, however, Metro notes.

Well now, it appears, Hawk is on the comeback trail.

"We’re working on a game, we are working on a game, it’s pretty cool," he told a US radio show.

He also described the "whole suit" motion capture involved.

Activision has since - perhaps reluctantly - confirmed that the game is on the way. They issued this response to IGN:

"Activision can confirm that they have something in the works with Tony Hawk, more info is coming soon."

Let's hope it's something substantial - and enjoyable.

In the meantime, enjoy this playlist of the best tunes from the series' soundtrack. That was always the point anyway, wasn't it?
