Girl Scout Sells 117 Boxes Of Cookies In Two Hours - Outside Cannabis Clinic

An astute Girl Scout came up with an ingenious strategy to significantly boost her sales – setting up shop outside a San Francisco medical marijuana dispensary.

Somewhat unsurprisingly, Danielle Lei sold 117 boxes of Tagalongs and Thin Mints in just two hours outside The Green Cross clinic.

Danielle sold out of her first batch within 45 minutes, according to the clinic. The Green Cross wrote on Facebook: "When the Girl Scouts set-up shop outside The Green Store storefront yesterday, little did they know they'd need to call for back-up Girl Scout Cookies after 45 minutes!

Both Danielle and her older sister Nikki have been selling cookies outside medical marijuana clinics before, and their parents see it as a way to learn about the difference between using the drug as a medicine compared to recreation, the girls' mum Carol Lei told Mashable.

"You put it in terms that they may understand," Carol said. "I'm not condoning it, I'm not saying go out in the streets and take marijuana [...] It also adds a little bit of cool factor. I can be a cool parent for a little bit."

“They learn that they’re not drugged out,” said Mrs Lei, who supervises her daughter as she sells the cookies. “Many have serious needs, and are just a little different.”

Danielle has until 16 March to sell 1,200 boxes of the Tagalongs and Thin Mints biscuits and half of the proceeds will go to charitable organisations related to Alzheimer’s.
