China Stab Attack In Train Station Leaves 27 Dead, More Than 100 Injured

27 Dead, 109 Injured After Frenzied Stabbing At China Station

A knife attack at a busy Chinese train station has killed at least 27 people, and injured more than 100, according to a state news agency.

The frenzied attack by knife-wielding men at a train station in Kunming, in the southwestern province of Yunnan, has left 109 people injured, the BBC reported.

Photos being shared on social media show piles of abandoned luggage, as people fled the scene, and bodies covered in blood.

Local media have reported that up to five men may have been involved in the attack.

Xinhua, China's state-run news agency, did not give details about the suspected motivation for the attack, only saying the perpetrators had yet to be identified.

The Associated Press has reported that the attackers, who may have been wearing official uniforms, were shot by police.
