Jake Bugg Brands American Idol "Dream Smasher" Following Live Performance

Jake Bugg Takes A Swing At American Idol

Jake Bugg has never been one to keep his opinions to himself, having previously slammed acts like One Direction, who he described as "terrible", as well as Leona Lewis and Mumford and Sons.

This time around it's US talent show American Idol on the receiving end of one of Jake's rants, which comes after he performed live on the show last Thursday night.

Jake told BBC Newsbeat that American Idol was "cruel", saying: "It's like, 'Thanks for coming on but you'll never get a contract.' It's the dream smasher".

Jake Bugg described American Idol as a "dream smasher" after performing on the show last week.

He also criticised this year's Brit Awards, which saw David Bowie scoop the award for Best British Male, calling the ceremony "really boring".

The 20-year-old added: "I don't mind losing out to David Bowie but how can you have a category with him in it and four people that have made one or two albums?"

He then went on to reopen his feud with One Direction, claiming: "To make up an award just so One Direction win it and turn up is a bit wrong but that's it, it's show business".

We're not sure the 'Directioners' on Twitter would agree with you on that one, Jake...
