11 Warning Signs You've Been Studying Too Hard

Deadline season is upon us again, and we're all locking ourselves in our rooms to churn out essays. However, it's important that you don't lose completely lose yourself in your work and remember other aspects of your life, too - such as sleep, basic personal hygiene and the outside world.

Essay- writing can do funny things to people - you may find yourself doing one or more of the following:

  • Shouting at inanimate objects
  • Pulling your hair out with the stress of finding a reference for your bibliography

  • Letting out general cries of despair to noone in particular
  • Taking a break every five minutes to make a cup of tea or coffee
  • Leaving the pile of mugs to be absorbed into your pit of a room
  • Stocking up your floordrobe with piles of notes and library books
  • Arguing with the scholar you're reading up on - out loud
  • Forgetting what the definition of a decent meal is
  • Swearing loudly as you receive an email informing you that your books are overdue
  • Forgetting basic life skills such as how to use a shower and operate a microwave
  • Forgetting basic academic skills such as how to spell
