Samsung Galaxy S5 Pre-Orders: March 28 For UK Early-Adopters

This Is The Date You Need To Circle If You Want A Galaxy S5...

Samsung has announced the Galaxy S5 smartphone will be available to pre-order in the UK from March 28.

The South Korean tech giant's new flagship device was announced last month at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The phone is slightly larger than the S4, with a 5.1-inch HD screen, but comes with a range of new features focused on fitness and health.

Perhaps most notably the S5 includes a heartrate monitor located on the back of the phone next to the camera, which users can hold for a few seconds to take a live reading.

It also packs in a 16-megapixel camera, an upgraded processor and a sleek new design with a 'perforated' back.

The S5 is also water and dust resistant, has a new 'low-power' mode and works with Samsung's range of upcoming wearable devices, including the impressive Gear Fit. It also has a fingerprint sensor designed to make unlocking the phone and making mobile payments easier.

Retailers including Carphone Warehouse have announced they will be taking pre-orders for the S5 on 28 March.

“We wanted to give our customers in the UK the chance to get their hands on the next generation of our Galaxy S smartphone as soon as possible by giving them the option to pre-order,” said Simon Stanford, Vice President of IT & Mobile division, Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland.

“With the Galaxy S5, we’ve very much focused on the features that our customers want and will use the most on a day to day basis, and look forward to hearing what they think when they get their new device.”
