'100 Retweets And I Shoot Someone': Chilling Tweets As Man Aimed At Passers-By

A man has been arrested after apparently threatening to shoot random passers-by if he gained 100 retweets on Twitter.

Police suspect Dakkari Dijon McAnuff, 20, from Los Angeles sent out the Tweet along with a picture of himself leaning out of a window holding what appeared to be a rifle.

The picture showed the rifle perched on the ledge and pointed at a busy street.

"100 RT’s and I’ll shoot someone walking" the Tweet said:

Police were able to link the account to a location, and arrived at his apartment on 9th Street in Downtown LA where they arrested McAnuff and recovered an air rifle.

McAnuff has been booked on suspicion of making criminal threats, police said, and his bail has been set at $50,000.

The account has since been deleted. But before it was pulled, the Tweet had received at least 365 Retweets, and had been favourited 116 times.
