The Rolling Stones have announced that they are cancelling their Wednesday night (19 March) concert in the Australian city of Perth, following the unexpected death of Mick Jagger’s girlfriend L’Wren Scott.
The band were due to start the Australian leg of their latest world tour, however their promoter has confirmed that the Perth show has been cancelled.

"Frontier Touring and Concerts West regret to announce that The Rolling Stones concert in Perth will not be going ahead as scheduled for Wednesday 19 March 2014,” they wrote on Facebook. “No further information is available at this time, ticket holders are asked to hold on to their tickets until a further update is available.”
As well as creating catwalk collections, L’Wren designed stage outfits for a number of The Rolling Stones’ tours, including outfits for their 2013 performances at Glastonbury Festival and Hyde Park.
Jagger was there to support her when Scott showcased her collection in her debut London fashion show last year.
L’Wren and Mick have been dating since 2001 and a rep for Jagger confirmed that the pair were still in a relationship at the time of her death.

Tributes to L’Wren have poured in from the fashion and music worlds, including a touching message from Jagger’s ex-wife Bianca, who wrote on Twitter: “Heartbroken to learn of the loss of the lovely and talented L'Wren Scott. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. May she rest in peace”.
There has been no confirmation as to whether the Stones will go ahead with their Adelaide Oval gig, which is scheduled for 22 March.
