Chris Martin’s dad has broken his silence on his son’s split from wife Gwyneth Paltrow, describing the pair as "still great mates".
Anthony Martin stated that he is understandably sad about the breakdown of Chris’s marriage, especially as the pair have two children, Apple and Moses.

"If you are married you know you have good days and bad days,” he told The Mirror. “We all have our ups and downs.
"It is sad because there are our two grandchildren. But it is all very amicable between them.”
Anthony, whose own marriage collapsed in 2011, added that he was “proud” of the couple - though he did struggle to remember the title of the couple’s statement: ‘Conscious Uncoupling’.
"It’s all in the statement - the expression that was used - conscious…” he added. “I am very proud of what they have achieved in their lives.”
Chris and Gwyneth have been married for 10 years but explained in their statement that they have been dealing with marital problems for the last 12 months.
