Michelle Heaton's Five-Week-Old Son Rushed To Hospital With Viral Meningitis

Michelle Heaton's baby son Aaron Jay is being treated in hospital after being diagnosed with viral meningitis.

The 34-year-old Liberty X singer and her husband, personal trainer Hugh Hanley, rushed their baby boy to hospital on Saturday night.

The next morning Michelle took to Twitter to tell fans that Aaron had been diagnosed with viral meningitis and - as if that wasn't terrifying enough - that he also has reflux.

She tweeted:

i

The last 24 hours has been the worst and scariest in my life. With everything I've been through mentally and physically nothing - I mean nothing - compares to that of when your baby is sick.

"Our beautiful baby boy has been very looked after in hospital after being diagnosed with viral meningitis and reflux disease just to top it off."

"He's fighting strong and taking the antibiotics well so far," Michelle tweeted. "But at only five weeks old one can only imagine our distress as parents.

"He's very sick and in pain with the reflux. The hospital are amazing and he's well looked after. Hopefully we will be able to take our little man home soon. I'm sure we will."

Michelle and Hugh, who also have a two-year-old daughter called Faith, recently confirmed that Aaron Jay will be their last child. As Michelle carries a mutated BRCA2 gene, which increases her risk of developing ovarian cancer, and is planning to have her ovaries removed as a preemptive measure.
