Gone Girl: Watch Ben Affleck In The First Trailer

Fans of Gillian Flynn's bestselling novel Gone Girl will know that a film version of the book is due to be released later in 2014.

Directed by David Fincher (known for his work in The Social Network and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) the adaptation stars Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne and Rosamund Pike, who plays his wife and the central character to the plot, Amy Dunne.

The film's first full trailer has just been released and whether you've read the book or not, it's worth a watch (even if it's just to get excited about Affleck's return to the big screen...)

The trailer shows Affleck's character Nick on a mission to find Amy after she goes missing on their fifth wedding anniversary. Yes, it's dark and Flynn's story is made even more traumatic by the fact that Nick has been accused of killing is wife. However, it's the clever choice of music that makes this clip even more disturbing than you might have expected.

Thought Elvis Costello's 'She' was the perfect soundtrack to rom-coms like Notting Hill? Turns out, this famous love song works in thrillers too.

Gone Girl is due to be released in the US in October 2014 (let's just hope we don't have to wait too much longer for it to arrive in cinemas over here.)
