Apple Working With Nike On iWatch?

Apple is said to be working closely with Nike on its upcoming wearable fitness band and smartwatch hybrid.

Details are slight - as are firm sources - but several sites speculate that the two companies are collaborating on elements of the new product.

In truth this one would hardly be a stretch. Apple and Nike have worked closely on fitness products before, including a running sensor, and Nike's new fitness app was featured prominently at the launch of the iPhone 5S.

It also chimes with recent rumours that Nike was restructuring its hardware division responsible for the Fuelband and Fuelband SE in response to the changing fitness wearables market.

Meanwhile Apple CEO Tim Cook went out of his way last year to praise the Nike Fuelband, going as far as to wear one on stage at one of his very few public interviews in 2013.

Oh, and one of Nike's top Fuelband engineers now works at Apple.

Like we said, you don't have to be a genius to join the dots here.

Still, working together on the new band would be a big step. We have absolutely no details on what the thing itself will end up looking like, but we can't wait to find out.
