Paul Scholes has returned to the Manchester United fold to assist interim manager Ryan Giggs, as the club's revered academy members from the early 90s stamp their authority in light of David Moyes' sacking.

Scholes was alongside reserve team coach Nicky Butt and first-team coach Phil Neville at United's Carrington training complex on Wednesday morning, with the trio expected to be in the dugout alongside Giggs for Saturday's visit of Norwich City.
Scholes retired from playing last year and briefly helped Butt with United's junior members, yet he quietly left the club, allegedly frustrated Moyes was unable to find a role for him in the coaching set-up.
Moyes' assistant Steve Round and first-team coach Jimmy Lumsden have also followed him out of United, but goalkeeping coach Chris Woods has stayed on, enabling Butt and Scholes to form a homegrown coaching quartet.
Scholes and Giggs have been teammates since the early 90s
Scholes, Giggs and Butt were all members of United's famed Class of '92 squad, alongside Gary Neville and David Beckham, while Phil Neville captained the club's junior team to a 1995 FA Youth Cup win.
