It’s looking to be a turbulent time for Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) on ‘EastEnders’ later this month, as she’s seen drunkenly making advances towards Phil Mitchell (Steve MacFadden).
After Shirley discovers that her estranged son Deano (Matt Di Angelo) has returned to Albert Square, she goes to meet him though their reunion doesn’t go the way she was hoping for.

Upset with the way their meeting went, Shirley turns to drink and is saved by Phil, who helps her out in her time of need.
Feeling vulnerable and drunk, though, Shirley mistakes his kindness for romantic interest, and leans in for a kiss. But will he reciprocate, or further add to Shirley’s embarrassment by rebuffing her?

Shirley and Phil have something of a history as he was a shoulder for her to cry on during her breast cancer scare years earlier, though when she revealed she had feelings for him, he told her that wasn’t the kind of relationship he wanted for them.
