'EastEnders' Cast Film 15 Different Endings To Lucy Beale Murder Storyline, Says Soap Star Jake Wood

'EastEnders' Cast Film 15 Endings To Lucy Beale Storyline

EastEnders’ producers are filming as many as 15 endings to the Lucy Beale ‘whodunit?’ storyline to keep information about exactly who was behind her murder as secret as possible.

The character, played by Hetti Bywater, was killed off earlier this year, though viewers didn’t get to see how she died or, more importantly, which Albert Square resident it was that did the deed.

Jake Wood, who plays Max Branning on the soap and is one of several suspects behind Lucy’s murder, admitted that neither he nor any of his castmates had any idea who the killer was, during an interview on ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Monday morning.

He explained: “I genuinely don't know. I think there's about four people in the world who know at the moment. I'm certainly not one of them."

And anyone with a suspicion about which ‘EastEnders’ character is the culprit will have a long time to wait before they find out whether or not they’re right, as the storyline won’t be resolved until February 2015 as part of the soap’s 30th anniversary celebrations.

Jake also revealed that a number of different outcomes will be filmed to keep people on their toes, saying: “We'll probably film those episodes about Christmas time. Even then, they have done it where they still won't tell the rest of the cast.

"I spoke to Dominic, our boss - he said they're going to film about 15 different endings. So again we might just find out on the night it goes out.”

Max is one of many ‘EastEnders’ characters potentially involved in Lucy’s murder as he was in a secret relationship with her before she died, and in the weeks before her death they had a blazing row which culminated in her falling and getting injured.

In last Friday's episode, viewers even saw Max deleting CCTV footage of their argument to stop himself looking suspicious.
