Do you often feel like you're the odd one out in the family, that you may as well be invisible, and that no-one is listening to you? Congratulations, you may just be a middle child. This hilarious video shows that it's not easy being in the middle.

Where you fall among your siblings can often determine your place in the family hierarchy for the rest of your life. The oldest kid is the firstborn, lavished with praise as they reach all life's milestones first - which equals diminishing returns for younger siblings.

But at least the youngest will always be the baby of the family, no matter their real age. Mum and dad will always give them that little extra leeway, aware of the rapidly approaching day when they face an empty nest.

So where does that leave the middle child? Mostly out, as this spot-on video explains. You love your family, but life in the middle can be frustrating.

Your brilliant ideas are ignored (until someone else mentions them) and your own family seem hazy on the details of your life. In fact, if it weren't for the fact that your siblings are constantly coming to you to vent their problems, sometimes you'd wonder if you were actually invisible.

Our favourite part sees the unlucky chap wedged between his older and younger sister as they play video games while he sits empty-handed. "You get to play the winner," one chirps. "And neither of us have lost yet."

Sums it all up, really...
