Mexico's World Cup squad's hopes of livin' la vida loca in Brazil have taken a hit after coach Miguel Herrera said they are banned from having sex during the finals.
Herrera's side only qualified for World Cup via a play-off win against New Zealand, and players like Manchester United striker Javier Hernández have been told to focus on scoring on the pitch, rather than off it.
"If a player can not endure a month or 20 days without having intercourse, then you are not prepared to be a professional," Herrera told Reforma. "Let’s play a World Cup, we’re not going to a party."
"You! Don't even think about it."
Mexico face Brazil, Croatia and Cameroon in Group A. They have qualified for the last 16 in the previous five World Cups but have lost every knockout match
El Tricolor play Israel at their home Azteca Stadium next Wednesday before facing Portugal, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Ecuador in the United States.
