Spanish Bulls Injure Three Matadors Ending Bullfight

It’s a victory for the bulls. Three matadors at Madrid's prestigious yet controversial Las Ventas ring were injured on Tuesday, forcing the organisers to cancel the popular event. The bullfight, due to be the 12th in the San Isidro festival, was stopped after two matadors were gored and a similarly unfortunate third was flipped in the air.

The cancellation is the first time in 35 years that a bullfight has been ended due to injuries inflicted by the bulls, with one matador, David Mora, remaining in hospital although his condition is not serious. The two other fighters were discharged. The bulls that gave the matadors such a difficult evening were Deslio and Feten, both weighing in excess of half a tonne.
