'Alien Bowl' Discovered On The Surface Of Mars, Except Obviously Not

Today in things found on Mars that aren't evidence of alien life, but look a bit like it, we present: the alien cereal bowl.

Spotted amidst Nasa's torrent of official imagery from the Mars rover Curiosity, the image appears to show a sort of bowl-shaped rock popping out of the sand.

Obviously it's immediately been branded evidence of some vast civilisation on the Red Planet by conspiracy theorists.

(Presumably a vast civilisation that rode atop giant T-rex dinosaurs.)

"Its a really cool discovery and not something that NASA would ever investigate with the Curiosity Rover," writes UFO Sightings Daily.

"The public really has to find a way to take control of the rover away from NASA and put it into public hands. Since it was funded with public dollars...that might not be so hard to do."

All very entertaining, but just so we're clear: this is a rock and some sand. Carry on.
