World Cup Golden Shoe Winners (PICTURES)

Over the course of 19 tournaments, 25 men have won, or shared, the World Cup Golden Shoe, to give it its official name these days.

The award was shared in 1962 (between six players) and between Bulgaria's Hristo Stoichkov and Russia forward Oleg Salenko in 1994.

It would have been jointly awarded to Thomas Müller, Diego Forlán and David Villa in 2010, too, however Fifa stipulated whoever boasted the most assists would win the award outright. Müller had three, compared to Forlán and Villa's one.
