Female students at a Utah high school in the US were shocked to discover that the photos taken for their yearbook had been altered without their knowledge.
Over two dozen Wasatch High School students' images were Photoshopped to add more clothing than in the original picture, as they were not dressed "appropriately."
Sophomore Rachel Russel, speaking to FOX 13, said that the selection process of whose images would be tapered with seemed random: “I feel like they put names in a hat and pick and choose who. There were plenty of girls that were wearing thicker tank tops and half of them got edited and half of them didn’t.”
The female students who spoke to FOX 13 were not aware that any of the male students image's were altered.
Staff at Wasatch County have insisted that the students know the dress code of the school and that there were signs up when the photos were taken warning that their images may be altered on publication. The Wasatch County Superintendent, Terry E. Shoemaker, has apologised but only for the inconsistency of the how the edited photos were chosen.
