Man V Food's Adam Richman Poses Naked For Cancer After Shedding 70 Pounds

Why Is Man V Food's Adam Richman Posing With A Football On His Nethers?

In reference to World Cup 2014, Man V Food's Adam Richman (these days more man, less food) is seen posing naked for Cosmopolitan magazine's July issue with a strategically-placed football.

Why?

Two very good reasons: first, to celebrate his staggering 70-pound weight loss. Adam had gained a lot of weight during his four-year stint on TV show Man V Food, and this was a great way to mark his achievement.

He said: "To go from hating the way I looked to being a Cosmo centerfold is a profound honor."

Second, he's doing it for charity, to raise awareness around male cancer for Cancer Research UK.

'If you're a guy who's always been the fun-to-be-around teddy bear, then all of a sudden people are viewing you as sexy, it's nice,' he told Cosmo about his weight loss.

'It's great not having to be the plucky best friend, or the comic relief anymore—I love that. Who wouldn't rather hear, "Wow, you look great," than, "Ewww…"?' he added.

Adam lost the weight by eliminating white flour and dairy from his diet and threw out peanut butter and ice cream - his two favourites - instead buying healthy snacks. He favours eating small, 150-calorie meals every two hours, and now - rather than a ginormous burger, his favourite diet foods include almonds, Greek yogurt and salmon.

Alongside a diet change he also ramped up his exercise routine from a sedate 30-minute amble on the treadmill to weight training and football practice. He also makes sure he walks 10,000 steps each day.
