Simon Cowell To Take Time Off After New Series Of 'The X Factor' To Focus On Fatherhood?

'X Factor' To Take A Back Seat For Family Man Simon?

Simon Cowell is reportedly planning on taking a break from his career when the next series of 'The X Factor' is over so he can focus on fatherhood.

The music mogul’s partner Lauren Silverman gave birth to his first child, Eric, back in February, and since then he’s been photographed out and about with his baby son on a number of occasions, but it’s claimed he now wants to spend less time on work so he can be with his son more.

It’s also believed that Simon's decision has been driven by some of his recent ventures not being quite as successful as he'd hoped.

The American ‘X Factor’ was recently cancelled after just three seasons, while the musical ‘I Can’t Sing!’ which Simon helped produce was shut down earlier this year after its run was cut short.

“Simon doesn't have the same fire in his belly. He's very clear that if things don't work out he'll just spend some time with Eric, relax and enjoy life.”

Of course, if he truly is thinking of taking some time off he’ll have a long wait, as the new series of ‘The X Factor’ began filming on Monday, with Simon being snapped on his way into the first round of auditions alongside his fellow judges Cheryl Cole, Mel B and Louis Walsh.

Meanwhile, his ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ co-judge Amanda Holden recently praised his fatherhood skills, claiming he “knows what he’s doing” as a dad.

Find out more about Simon’s future plans in the latest issue of Reveal magazine, out now.
