Kate Silverton has shared the happy news on her Twitter page that she has given birth, to a baby boy she’s named Wilbur.
The newsreader and her husband Mike Heron welcomed their newborn son into the world, the second child for the couple, who already have a daughter, Clemency, born in November 2011.

Kate has been upfront about her struggles with conception in the past, and - at the age of 42 - thought she’d be unable to have any more children, having been through four rounds of IVF and suffered two miscarriages before giving birth to her son last month.
However, the star has overcome these challenges with the arrival of her son, posting a photo of her sleeping baby and describing him as a “ray of sunshine” on her Twitter page to announce the news she’d become a mother for the second time.
And Kate isn’t the only celebrity to get pregnant later on in their lives, with a whole host of female stars having a family in their forties.
