Tinder Text Messages: The Shocking Conversation That Broke Up Tinder

The Shocking Text Messages That Broke Up Tinder

The Tinder fiasco has reached a new high (or low depending on how you look at it) with the leak of the entire conversation between the app's two co-founders which led to one of them suing for sexual harrasment.

Justin Mateen and Whitney Wolfe were part of a team which co-founded the app back in 2012, then in 2013 the pair decided to date. This continued intermittently for the rest of the year.

Wolfe claims the relationship came to an end after Mateen became increasingly controlling and abusive. With relationship over however the abuse reportedly just got worse. In court documents she claims she was suspect to a "barrage of horrendously sexist, racist, and otherwise inappropriate comments, emails and text messages".

She eventually resigned from the company claiming that she had been sexually harassed by both Mateen -- who allegedly referred to her as a "whore" in public -- and the app's CEO Sean Rad.

IAC, which owns Tinder, has condemned Mateen in a statement but has denied the allegations made against Rad.

"Immediately upon receipt of the allegations contained in Ms. Wolfe's complaint, Mr. Mateen was suspended pending an ongoing internal investigation," the statement read. "Through that process, it has become clear that Mr. Mateen sent private messages to Ms. Wolfe containing inappropriate content. We unequivocally condemn these messages, but believe that Ms. Wolfe's allegations with respect to Tinder and its management are unfounded."

The pair had allegedly called Wolfe 'slutty' for being the co-founder of a dating app, and denied her status as one of the founders.

Wolfe is now suing the company armed with her slew of emails, and now, as you can see, a long stream of abusive messages she claims were sent from Mateen.

The full alleged conversation can be found over at Business Insider.
