Behind The Scenes Of Richard Linklater's History-Making 'Boyhood'

In 2002, director Richard Linklater cast a six-year-old boy, Ellar Coltrane, in his film.

During the next 12 years, the pair of them made cinematic history, with Ellar playing the lead character Mason, whose life and adventures were charted on screen, in real time - from holiday camp, through his parents' problems, to the challenges of impending adulthood.

The result in the remarkable 'Boyhood' - also starring Patricia Arquette and Linklater's oft-collaborator Ethan Hawke.
