Nearly one in 100 Americans is behind bars - no, really - and as John Oliver points out, many are there on drug charges, and "our drug laws do seem to be a little draconian, and a lot racist".
Check out the latest great segment from his Sunday night HBO show, which tackles not only the issue of so many (non-white) Americans being behind bars, but also the fact that America seems quite happy to ignore the problem, privatise its prisons and not look after its prisoners - and quite happy to make tired jokes about prison rape.
